Passive fits without binding. That is what we want in the CEREC experience! This tutorial will address the spacer recommendations and preparation principles I use to avoid restoration binding and still retain a snug fit.

Check the spacer in the Design Screen by viewing underside of restoration (remove Model Box in the Analyzing tools). This will provide assessment for spacer. Important…check the spacer first after proposal of restoration. If Spacer needs to be increased because of spacer shine through assessment, the full proposal will be repurposed rather than just the spacer being altered as we saw in 3.85. CEREC 4.01 provides an incredible acquisition optical flexibility as compared to prior versions of the CEREC software. I now have the flexibility to capture full buccal, lingual, mesial, and distal undercuts in my optical images without image distortion and fit challenges.
There are a few remaining 4.0 hiccups we need to work around as CEREC clinicans. This video will point out the hiccups and how to get around them.

We may choose multiple capture catalogs in the Acquisition Phase Screen. For instance, we are able to add the opposing arch catalogs and buccal scan to BioCopy (new name for Correlation). The catalog screen options in 4.0 are impressive.
The buccal optical bite registration is the corner stone to occlusal mastery. Dr. Klim will review his approach to accomplishing predictable and repeatable buccal scan success and results.
