MiYO Esthetic has been a game changer for making zirconia restorations more life-like and ceramics.  Considered a brush on ceramic, the colors have a special translucency, providing a depth effect like no other ceramic coloring system.  Recently Jensen provided an 16 minute firing program.  Below is the firing forumula for furnance programing.

In the last ten years, I have applied various glazes for e.max, starting with Crystall, then Ceram and Colors, Ivoclor, and now MiYO 850.  Each one has improved the outcome for the final result.  What I have learned from teaching all of these products on e.max through the years is that the colors and glaze with MiYO 850 are more forgiving and natural looking due to their translucent nature than any other system I have used.  In all my 30-plus years of teaching, never have I seen such a positive and emotional response to learning and mastery as I have observed with MiYO.  My main motivation for teaching is passing on significant valuedRead more

This last year has been a good year for chairside CAD/CAM.  The Primemill has come to its own with mill quality for both ceramics and zirconia.  The Extra Fine Mill for ceramics provides superior fit and margins, including e.max.  The Primemill is seamless for zirconia quality mills with newer, high-strength, and aesthetic zirconias available.  It has been a good year!

My number one factor in avoiding post-treatment sensitivity following the delivery of indirect restorations is the management of force dynamics in the occlusal morphological design.  This is one reason I like the virtual digital design to control occlusal contact placement.  This video's occlusal design concept uses Primescan and the latest CEREC software.  These principles apply to Exocad and 3 Shape software, and I am also branching into these virtual design softwares.

I am pleased to announce I am now in an official relationship with Ivoclar as a material and digital consultant.  I have worked with Ivoclar for over 25 years and have found their people and company philosophy to be at the highest ethical and moral standards.  I look forward to providing input, creating workflows, and educational content around digital dentistry.

I will expand my teaching to other software systems like ExoCAD and 3 Shape, working with the Vivascan Ivoclar scanner and the Ivoclar PM5 puck milling unit.  I feel the profession is at a time when a digital-focused office needs more than one system to maximizeRead more
